Sis Kebap

Available almost any place you stop to eat, kebabs (kebap in Turkish) come in many guises. Although the ingredient of choice for Turks is lamb, some kebabs are made with beef, chicken, or fish, usually grilled with vegetables on a skewer.

Sis kebaps are the traditional skewered cubes of lamb, usually interspersed with peppers and onions.

Ingredients

500 grams of diced lamb
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 tomatoes
6 long green peppers
1 onion
salt, pepper

Preparation

Grate onion and remove its liquid. Place diced lamb in a bowl and add onion and lemon juices. Cover and rest for a few hours.Cut peppers and tomaotes into large pieces. Place meat and alternate layers of peppers and tomatoes on skewers. Cook on hot plate or barbeque, turning frequently. Serve with a fresh garden salad.
