North Cyprus Internet Services

If you want to connect to the Internet in North Cyprus for the time being you are limited to two flavours. These come in the form of wireless or dial up connections. For the moment there are no cable, dsl, or wifi options.

List of Internet Service Providers in North Cyprus

Dial-Up Connection

North Cyprus has 4 major ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) that use dial up as their means of connecting you to the Internet. These companies are Superonline, LedraNet, Comtech, Mahir and AnalizComputer.

All four of these companies offer connections through dial up at speeds of 41kbps (4kbps-5kbps for downloads and uploads), although speeds can vary depending on usage, failures at the source, or other technical problems. These companies are connected to the local phone company, but three of these companies also have an additional connection by means of dish. By using their own connection Superonline, LedraNet, and Comtech have means of backup in case of a failure between local phone company and their offices.
Also LedraNet offers lease lines and in the near future they may offer ADSL connections.

Note: All of the above mentioned dial up companies are based in Nicosia.

Wireless Connection

In terms of wireless connections there are 3 major ISP’s (internet service providers). These companies are NetHouse Networks based in Nicosia and Famagusta, Rflex based in Nicosia, and Extend Broadband based in Kyrenia.

Extend Broadband offers connections to the internet by wireless means at speeds of 128kbps to 2048kbps. At the base speed of 128kbps downloads and uploads would be around 16kbps. However, take note that this will soon change when AyzaNet’s new base speed becomes 512kbps with downloads and uploads of around 64kbps. AyzaNet also offers dedicate plans at a greater cost which give you speeds of 128kbps with downloads and uploads at 128kbps. This company also plans to setup wifi hotspots within North Cyprus in the near future. Read more..

Rflex offers connections to the internet by wireless means at speeds of 128kbps to 1024kbps. At the base speed of 128kbps downloads and uploads would be around 16kbps.
